They are used as lining materials for underground tunnels for water supply, sewerage, railroads, roads, gas, multipurpose utility conduits. TECHNOS manufactures steel segments as well as concrete-packed steel segments.

Steel Segment
This type of steel segment is a segment made of steel plates with steel as the main material for shield tunneling. It is the most economical segment that is easy to handle and is generally used in the shielding method for segments with a small diameter, approx. Ø3000 or less.
The fabrication of steel segment is partially automated by welding robots to improve productivity.

Concrete-Packed (CP) Segment
The concrete-packed segment is made of steel or a composite consisting of a steel shell covered with steel plates and filled with concrete. Due to its superior strength and watertightness, it is used in hearvy-load areas such as underground river, sewer, and subway.
Special Steel Shell Segment with a Large Diameter
Large-diameter steel segments are used to construct underground spaces with large cross-sections, such as the branch points of road tunnels.
